Einkaferðir með leiðsögn
Besta leiðin til að sjá norðurljósin lýsa upp himininn yfir Íslandi er að vera í einkaferð með leiðsögn á fjórhjóladrifnum jeppa sem kemur þér á réttan stað þar sem himinninn er heiður og dimmur.
Við getum tekið þig í stutta ferð út fyrir Reykjavík eða lengri ferð þar sem við dveljum í sveitinni fjarri borgarljósunum í 3–5 daga eða lengur ef þú vilt.
Við getum skipulagt, sérsniðið og séð um bókun gistingar eftir því hvar skyggnið er best hverju sinni. Við getum haft með okkur þrífætur og hlý föt og við getum einnig aðstoðað við stillingar á myndavélinni svo þú náir góðum myndum af norðurljósunum þegar þau sýna sig. Norðurljós verða til í 90 til 150 km hæð, eða 50 til 100 mílna, og geta jafnvel náð allt að 1000 km, 650 mílum, yfir yfirborði jarðar.
Það er hægt að sjá norðurljósin, sem einnig kallast aurora borealis, á Íslandi frá september fram í apríl. Það eina sem þarf er dimmur og heiður himinn og að sjálfsögðu virkni í lofthjúpnum sem stafar af rafhlöðnum ögnum sem rekast á segulsvið jarðar.

I toured Iceland twice with Thor ! Every time he was considerate, on time. He is a great driver on snow and ice. We trusted him with our lives! He knows Iceland history and regaled us with stories. He cares about the people and his country. Those blue eyes and that smile welcomed us. He even woke upon at 4 am to take me to the airport! That is genuine kindness and commitment! My tour of Iceland in March was perhaps the best travel experience I have ever had. Our tour guide, Thor, did his utmost to make sure we had the best experience possible. We were able to see the northern lights on three nights and he took fabulous photos and beforehand told us a little bit about science behind the northern light. The accommodations were wonderful, the food was excellent, and in out-of-the-way places, the tour arranged for private meals where there weren’t restaurants. It was wonderful to go in March to see the northern lights and to avoid the crowds from the cruise ships.
