Bill F2024-11-08A US group of family and friends (7 of us) did tours with Thor, the owner of Salty Tours. It was overwhelming. He is the best. We did full day excursions to the Golden Circle and South Coast sites. We also drove to view the Nothern Lights, and were driven to and from the Blue Lagoon and The Sky Lagoon. Thor also got us to and from the airport. He was recommended to us by a friend. He knows much about the country and its history. He tailored the tour to the weather conditions and our preferences. He was an excellent companion to our group. A private tour is the best way for a group to see Iceland, and we would highly recommend Thor as your guide. Its easy to communicate with him while planning the trip, and his costs are very competitive with other tour guides.Lee2024-06-09My husband and I did a private South Coast tour with Thor, Salty Tours. The tour itself was fantastic. Thor is very knowledgeable, personable and interested in giving his clients the best day possible. He tailored the tour to suit our interests and pace. He timed out stops so we weren't competing with the larger tour buses and gave us honest tips about each stop, ensuring that we got the best experience possible. katycarey2024-09-25Thor is the Best I toured Iceland twice with Thor ! Every time he was considerate, on time. He is a great driver on snow and ice. We trusted him with our lives! He knows Iceland history and regaled us with stories. He cares about the people and his country. Those blue eyes and that smile welcomed us. He even woke upon at 4 am to take me to the airport! That is genuine kindness and commitment! Best tours with lots of places to discover. Thanks a million! You are the best!!carolyn i2024-09-25Once in a lifetime experience My tour of Iceland in March was perhaps the best travel experience I have ever had. Our tour guide, Thor, did his utmost to make sure we had the best experience possible. We were able to see the northern lights on three nights and he took fabulous photos and beforehand told us a little bit about science behind the northern light. The accommodations were wonderful, the food was excellent, and in out-of-the-way places, the tour arranged for private meals where there weren’t restaurants. It was wonderful to go in March to see the northern lights and to avoid the crowds from the cruise ships.Robin R2024-09-24Life changing, beautiful terrain Traveling Iceland, by itself is life changing! So glad we toured with Saltytours and Thor! We traveled the entire ring of Iceland, the terrain is so beautiful and diverse, everything from lava fields, waterfalls, geysers, glaciers, thermal pools and northern lights. Thor is also an excellent photographer, he knows how to capture the northern lights. He is very knowledgeable and personable, a safe driver who knows his way around. We enjoyed our time in Iceland, Thor was a bonus!

You can see the highlights and/or go off the beaten path. He will accommodate whatever schedule you have. Five of us did a bit of both and absolutely loved it! We did a 3 night 4 day tour. Thor is extremely knowledgeable about the history and geology of Iceland. He is reasonably priced and we all felt like we had made a new friend. He will go the extra mile to make certain you are happy with your trip! He even picked us up at 10pm to drive away from the city lights looking for the Northern Lights. Stop looking for tours and book Salty Tours to avoid the big coach and canned tours! Ycamyw2019-07-02Wonderful tour and airport transfer service We arranged by email for our group a private full day minibus tour of Golden Circle plus Fontana spa. We cannot be more satisfied with the service provided to us. Thor was a great tour guide and it was a real pleasure to work with him. He took us first off the beaten path to avoid the big crowds. He also arranged for us the transfer to KEF airport at the end of our Iceland cruise. We had a morning flight to catch so it was comforting to see the driver waiting for us when we got off the ship. The cost was much lower than going by taxi.Tourist1012992018-11-28A more complicated tour made easy We had spent 4 days in Iceland already and had thought we had seen many of the key sites at least in southern Iceland. As well, I was travelling with my father who because of a recent injury was unable to walk every much. Thor was a great and knowledgeable guide, full of interesting stories and was able to make our day a fantastic one. His SUV was perfect for us getting around, and Thor allowed me time to snorkel at Silfar , as well as touring my father around parts of the park we had never seen before. Some last minute planning enabled us to see the lava tubes as well.
