From the first communication through to dropping us off at our apartment, we had an incredibly positive experience. Any questions before the tour were answered promptly. The tour itself was fantastic. Thor is very knowledgeable, personable and interested in giving his clients the best day possible. He tailored the tour to suit our interests and pace. He timed out stops so we weren't competing with the larger tour buses and gave us honest tips about each stop, ensuring that we got the best experience possible. Thor will show you whatever you want to see! You can see the highlights and/or go off the beaten path. He will accommodate whatever schedule you have. Five of us did a bit of both and absolutely loved it! We did a 3 night 4 day tour. Thor is extremely knowledgeable about the history and geology of Iceland. He is reasonably priced and we all felt like we had made a new friend. He will go the extra mile to make certain you are happy with your trip! He even picked us up at 10pm to drive away from the city lights looking for the Northern Lights. Stop looking for tours and book Salty Tours to avoid the big coach and canned tours! Ycamyw2019-07-02Wonderful tour and airport transfer service We arranged by email for our group a private full day minibus tour of Golden Circle plus Fontana spa. We cannot be more satisfied with the service provided to us. Thor was a great tour guide and it was a real pleasure to work with him. He took us first off the beaten path to avoid the big crowds. He also arranged for us the transfer to KEF airport at the end of our Iceland cruise. We had a morning flight to catch so it was comforting to see the driver waiting for us when we got off the ship. The cost was much lower than going by taxi.VerifiedTourist1012992018-11-28A more complicated tour made easy We had spent 4 days in Iceland already and had thought we had seen many of the key sites at least in southern Iceland. As well, I was travelling with my father who because of a recent injury was unable to walk every much. Thor was a great and knowledgeable guide, full of interesting stories and was able to make our day a fantastic one. His SUV was perfect for us getting around, and Thor allowed me time to snorkel at Silfar , as well as touring my father around parts of the park we had never seen before. Some last minute planning enabled us to see the lava tubes as well. We took the Golden Circle Tour and spent an evening searching for the northern lights with Thor. He graciously answered about a thousand questions from us about climate, economics, politics, lifestyles, religions, art, the Sagas and history. He even arranged for us to have lunch in a huge greenhouse that grows tomatoes!
